Renée Rivera MSW, LCSW, CST
Renée Rivera is a Denver-based relationship therapist with 30+ years of experience in the mental health field. Previously she worked with complicated families, and helped others courageously face and resolve their sexual trauma.
Renée is also a skilled teacher and has taught counseling skills overseas in Vietnam and here in Denver as a social work instructor at Metro State University. She has worked in mental health policy, advocacy and administration as the Executive Director at the National Association of Social Workers, Colorado Chapter.
Seeing the need to address relationship and sexuality issues, particularly among middle-aged and older adults, Renee decided to refocus her career. After more than two tough years she earned a Certification in Sex Therapy (CST) from AASECT in Nov of 2020, something she is quite proud of doing at this stage of her career. She has also been trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples. Renee is dedicated to helping all people live fully and joyfully throughout the stages of life.
Renée has a BA in Latin American Studies from The George Washington University and a Master’s in Social Work from the Catholic University of America.
